iPhone X Using a USB-C Charger Sold IDR 1.2 Billion, How come?

Apple's 2017 cellphone, the iPhone X, sold for $86,001 or equivalent to IDR 1.2 billion in an auction on eBay.

Not without reason, the iPhone X turned out to have a USB-C port charger installed which is usually found on Android phones.

Quoted from GSM Arena, Saturday, November 13, 2021, the iPhone X with a USB-C port was successfully installed by a robotics student named Ken Pillonel.

The iPhone initially received 116 bids and eventually sold for IDR 1.2 billion.

Based on information on eBay, the buyer is known to be from Zurich, Switzerland

According to Pillonel, the first step for USB-C to work was to make sure the electronics worked, then reverse engineer the Apple C94 connector and create a custom-built PCB with a USB-C port.

Once the schematic is complete, the port is plugged into the iPhone X phone which then works effortlessly.

Ken Pillonel said new owners of the iPhone X with USB-C should not reset, update, or wipe the device and use it as a daily driver.

New owners are also not allowed to tamper with the iPhone X's internals or the warranty will be void.***
